A Rough Start, A Better Reminder

The start of this new year wasn’t exactly magical.

I had a rough client situation that left me with an unpaid balance for work I completed. Pair that with slower holiday sales, gloomy weather, and the general winter blues, and I’ll be honest — my pride and confidence took a hit. When you run a small business, it’s personal. You’re not just selling a product… you’re putting your time, your creativity, and your name on the line.

And then something shifted.

A new client came along and reminded me why I do this in the first place.

She not only genuinely loves some of the coloring books I’ve created — she also ordered business cards for herself and for the managing partner of the law firm she works for. That kind of trust is huge. Not just because it’s an order, but because it’s someone saying, “I believe your work belongs in the real world. On a desk. In a wallet. In front of other professionals.”

That moment snapped something back into place for me.

Because what I love most about this isn’t just making things — it’s making something someone loves enough to display, gift, or actually use. Something that feels like them. Something they’re proud to share. That’s the part that makes the late nights worth it.

So today, I just want to say thank you.

To the customers who come back.
To the ones who message me excitedly about a new design.
To the ones who tell a friend.
To the ones who see the work behind the work.

You’re not “just” supporting a small business — you’re helping rebuild momentum, confidence, and joy in the process.
